To be human is to have biases. The best you can hope for is to be aware of your biases, and to limit their impact.

Workshop objectives

  • Be able to name and explain common cognitive biases

  • Understand how to talk about biases in a team setting

  • Be able to apply some tactics to reduce the impact of biases

Duration

This is a half day in-person workshop. We need a minimum of 4 participants, and prefer to limit the group to 20 participants.

Outline

In this workshop we explore common biases that affect teamwork. We practice recognizing biases, talking about them, and designing practices to limit the impact of biases.
Topics include:

  • Common cognitive biases

  • Recognizing biases in team decision making

  • Robust decision making practices
